Litla Reykjavík @ Superbooth 26

Litla Reykjavík @ Superbooth 26

This year at Superbooth we had an opportunity to move to a larger space to set up in.  At the same time we knew of a few other Icelandic companies; Genki Instruments, Cycle Instruments, Atomic Analog, Inorganic Audio, that were also going and decided to create an Icelandic superbooth at Superbooth! What a week it was!  It started out before even setting up, with a visit to the Icelandic embassy where the ambassador greeted us and Andreas Schneider was of course the guest of honor. Among great company we got a show from Steinunn Eldflaug - aka: Airplane and Spaceship, using FIRST LOVE in her set for the first time, which was a special feeling.

After speeches, handshakes, cocktails and great conversations we headed to the Superbooth venue to set up our highly ambitious booth design. Yes we got a bit carried away! In collaboration with Micheal Hendrix, an American designer, author and musician living in Iceland we came up with an idea of a tribute to our favourite record stores in Reykjavík, creating a welcoming space where people could hang, chat and get coffee, listen to live performances where all the instruments where connected - and of course play the instruments and try the gear. Michael's designs were amazing and with a team effort from everyone involved it all came together wonderfully. Being able to have a whole weekend in this great company sharing ideas, playing music, and working hard, left us with a great feeling and optimism for the future of this growing industry of instrument and musical gear makers in Iceland.
